How to use the Flesch reading score?

What is the Flesch reading score?
 

The Flesch reading score evaluates the readability of a piece of text. The Flesch Reading Ease gives a text a score between 1 and 100, with 100 being the highest readability score. 

The formula was developed in the 1940s by Rudolf Flesch. He was a consultant with the Associated Press, developing methods for improving the readability of newspapers.

 

How to use the Flesch reading score?

 

Once you have written your article you can check the Flesch reading score for your article by clicking on the "Check Reading Score" button below the tags field inside the article editor. 
 

 

After clicking on the button, you will get a Flesch reading score along with suggestions on how to improve it as shown in the image below.
