How to use AI Headline

With millions of articles and social media posts published each day, your content is up against fierce competition. In today's fast-paced digital world, readers often decide whether to read an article in a split second. A good headline is crucial because it's the first thing readers see, and it can make the difference between a click and a scroll.

So if an article does not have a compelling headline, it is likely that nobody will open it. This means that your time and effort put into writing the article have been wasted. A compelling headline can help pique your readers' interest and make them want to learn more about the topic of your article.

However, writing a headline that gets readers to click is no easy task. You have to be able to capture the essence of your entire content, and make it interesting while keeping the word count low. Every word in the headline matters. But no need to stress out, we are here to help.

We have developed an AI powered feature to help you create amazing headlines on the go. You just write your usually awesome content and generate 5 ready to use headlines with just 2 clicks.

How to enable AI headline feature
If you would like to start using the AI headline feature in your organization, you first need to enable it by going to Settings > General > AI > Generate headline with AI section (as shown in the image below).

How to customize the AI content prompt
You also have the ability to customize the prompt used for the AI model for generating these headlines. You can do so by going to Settings > General > AI > Generate headline with AI section (as shown in the image above). But, we discourage changing it unless you are quite well-versed with creating prompts for AI models. We advise our customers to initially use the feature with the default prompt.

If in case you change the prompt, and it doesn’t seem to be working out, you can go back to the default prompt: “Write 5 attractive and exciting headlines for the article below, ensuring they are in the same language as the article."

How to generate headlines for your articles
Once you’ve enabled the AI headline feature from settings, you can start using it to generate headlines for your articles inside the CMS. You first need to write at least 100 words in the article editor before you can generate headlines. Once you’ve written your full content, you can generate headlines by clicking on the “Generate Headlines” button (as shown in image below) to the right of your “Title” field on the article editor page.

After you click on the “Generate Headlines” button, a pop-up (shown in image below) will appear where you can customize the kind of headlines you want to generate. You can choose the length of the headline in characters. You may ask to include/ exclude certain words (make sure to hit ENTER after typing the word).. You can also make the headline a question or include a quote in the headline. After customizing the settings, you can click on the “Generate Headlines” button in the pop-up, and let AI do the rest of the magic.

You will get 5 headlines displayed on the article editor (as shown in the image below). You can click on “Select” to automatically make a headline your article title, or you could also copy it. Additionally, you can also hide the results if you wish to pick a headline later.

Tip: You may use A/B testing to choose the best headline in a data driven way.

Note: There is a limit of 32000 characters on the combined length of the input and output processed by the AI model. This is a limit with the external AI model we use and we can’t do much here. So, if the length of your input (determined majorly by the article length in this case) is more than 32000 characters, you won’t be able to use the AI headlines feature (this also holds true for our other AI features). If the length of your input and output combined is more than the limit, then only part of the output and not the entire output will be generated.
